Your field precedes you.
Bold bunnies, coherence, and what happens when you stop pushing. I am sitting on my front porch. The morning is still shaded, the breeze light, the sun catching the edges of things in that particular way it does before the heat of the day arrives. I noticed a slight movement in my yard. Then I saw her. A bunny, bold enough to walk right out into the open, munching clover like she owns the place. Then a second one joined her. My heart filled. That quiet, full feeling that has nothing to do with productivity or achievement. Just beauty in the present moment. I am a city girl through and through. And also, somehow, a Disney princess in my little urban oasis. Not the kind who waits to be rescued. The kind the animals just seem to find. The bold bunnies are not the first. The chipmunks and birds have been more at ease in my presence too. I think I know why. Over the past six weeks I have committed to a daily practice of meditation including a few minutes of intentional coherent breath work. Just over a year ago I became a certified HeartMath Coach. Recently I found myself inspired to practice what I learned on myself. Here is the one piece of science that matters for this story. The heart generates the largest electromagnetic field in the human body, extending up to three feet outside of us in all directions. It carries information about our emotional state and broadcasts it into the environment around us. That's right, your thoughts and ultimately your feelings do not remain inside of you. They resonate outward and have influence beyond us. Which means the bunnies make sense. The way I have been feeling lately, calmer, more confident, more able to see myself the way others see me instead of through my own default critical lens, that is not just in my head. It is in my field. If you have been following along each week, you have probably noticed my desire to find balance between calm and confidence. I mention it often. It is something I have been chasing for a long time and I think I am finally finding it not by pushing harder, but by getting still enough to feel it. Most of us are more familiar with the other direction. Walking into a room that you feel is tense before anyone has even said a word. Standing next to a stranger and feeling inexplicably unsettled. Leaving a conversation feeling drained without knowing exactly why. We are wired to absorb the energy around us, and for most of us, the negative registers first. We also have the power to flip that. Choosing heart coherence is not just something I am doing for myself. It is something I am putting into the world. I am appreciating what I have built. I am inspired to keep going. And there is something taking shape that I will be sharing more about soon. Something that came directly from this kind of grounded, aligned place. More on that next week. Have you ever been around someone whose calm was contagious?
