Struggling with the stars.

You, dear reader, most likely do not notice the exact timing of my weekly messages. But I do. As a deeply structured Capricorn, I plan. I do not leave things to the last possible moment, hold on, that's not fully true, and I don't need some of you calling me out on that one. Let's just say, I am most often writing during my carved out self care time on slow Sunday mornings. So yesterday morning, when I felt no pull to write, it left me slightly anxious. Every part of my structured self wanted to push through and stay on schedule, but I knew I couldn't force my creativity just to fit the moment. The part of me shaped by my Pisces moon knew that forcing it was not the move. So I waited. I honored the no, even though it meant sitting in discomfort about when and how this week's message would get done. And now, at 5:56 Monday morning, I find myself writing this in the void. The new moon in Gemini arrived at 10:53 last night. One minute later the moon went void of course, and will stay that way until around 8am. In astrological tradition, the void is considered a poor time to initiate or decide, and a good time for stillness, reflection, and rest. So here I am, writing quietly in the exact window the sky is asking us to be still. Because I trusted myself when my usual structure did not feel right, and only afterward realized my instinct had matched what the stars were already saying. Lately the collective conversation has been loud. We are in the year of the Fire Horse, everything is moving fast, and there is so much uncertainty in the world, to the point of absurdity in our politics, where the headlines read like we are living inside the 2006 film Idiocracy. I can hardly give it my attention. Against all that noise, the astrologers online are buzzing about powerful new moons and the great opportunity to be seen and step into a bolder version of yourself. The energy is all push forward, be visible, claim your moment. So why, in the middle of all that excitement, do I feel uncertain? Why does the invitation to be seen land in me as discomfort rather than thrill? I laid my birth chart over the current sky, and the discomfort made sense. Being asked to be seen, to step into visibility and leadership, is not automatically exciting. It takes courage. Leo asks to be seen, and sometimes the route we take to being seen is not comfortable, no matter how the internet packages it. I checked in with my favorite IG astrologer, @mymetaphysicalmaven, and she offered a line that hit what I needed to hear. "Life does not get easier, you become more and more capable." I am learning to acknowledge the difference between performative growth and honoring what is real for me. The goal is not to force myself into visibility because the collective says it is time. It is to respond to what is genuinely calling me forward, and to trust that even when it stirs up doubt, I can meet it.
