Starting to start.
Paint colors, prep, and building a room you want to be in. Settling into my den to write this morning, I am nestled on my sofa between boxes and recently removed outlet covers. My comfortable pillows are already put away and I'm staring at a half-empty room. Why did I choose to put all of this work on my plate? I've decided to repaint my den, give it an update. It sounds simple enough. This color has been on the walls since before the house was mine. I chose to keep it because it reminded me of my childhood home, and, while I did refresh the paint and put my spin on the space, I've begun to wonder if some part of what I created has me living in a holdover. Pieces of the past, part mine and part the previous owners. I am ready for something crisper, cleaner, more defined as the new me. I had so much energy five years ago when I bought this house. Then, I was moving away from something, almost frantically pushing forward, doing anything to get to the change I needed, and I knew how to do that through construction, renovation, charging forward energetically through the physical work of changing a space. Now I feel a bit stuck at the start, circling the prep instead of just making this change I am so ready for. As much as I want this change and know I will love the refresh, it's a lot of work. Also, my perspective is so different than it was five years ago. I am in a great space in my life, moving forward positively versus running away from something. I feel a quiet knowing of where I want to be and a strong sense of how I'll get there. Still there is that tendency to stall. I know the tricks that work for me when I'm stalling. Naming it helps, so does building in accountability that I can't quietly back out of. That is what I've done, I mentioned the project to my mom. She got excited and offered to help. We put a date on the calendar, and just like that, I had a deadline to aim for instead of a "someday." That's my secret to getting unstuck, and that is what I am excited to offer you with Honest Hours. The date is on the calendar, we begin on July 19th. With just two spots remaining, are you ready to commit? I've built the structure, created the space. There's room left for you. Won't you join us? Not sure, grab a FREE clarity call with me. Is Honest Hours the room you've been circling instead of starting? Two spots left. Let's talk.
