Brief thought for heavy times.

For me at least, the world is feeling so loud and heavy right now. So much noise competing for our attention. All feeling like a waste of time and no way to figure out what is true. I want to acknowledge that because it is penetrating. Even when we are doing the work to stay centered and protect our peace, the uncertainty of it all can get overwhelming. So this week I will stay brief and offer a wonderful thought I got lost in the other day. I was thinking about my closing line in the last newsletter, about blooming. I remembered a time lapse video I had seen of a dahlia blooming. Have you ever watched a flower bloom in time lapse? It does not happen in a straight line. A dahlia expands, pauses, pulls back slightly, and then opens further than it could have without that contraction. That pulling back is not failure. It is not regression. It is part of how blooming works. If you are feeling a little tender right now, a little quieter than usual, a little less open than you were last week, that is okay. You may just be gathering for the next opening. New growth does not need more pressure. Focusing on ourselves right now with everything happening in the world is hard enough without adding the expectation to grow more and grow faster. Growth builds little by little. It needs tending. Sometimes that tending looks like extra rest, taking on fewer commitments, or cancelling one at the last minute and choosing a walk instead. When you need to pull back, do it. Recognize it as a step in your growth and be kind to yourself. If any of this resonates and you are ready to explore what that looks like for you, I would love to connect over a free clarity call. Next week I want to talk about the difference between a real emergency and the noise that sounds like one.
